Ringing the Nasdaq Opening Bell
In 2019, PitchBook rang the opening bell at the Nasdaq headquarters in New York. For the ceremony, we took over several digital screens outside and ran a social campaign.
THE INSIGHT
From the perspective of the public market investor (asset manager, hedge funds, etc.), having a grasp on private market investment activity will introduce you to the next generation of public companies. As a hedge fund, it's important to know the companies you're investing in, inside and out. The earlier you get to know management teams, business strategies, etc., the more confident you can be in your investment into those companies once they are public entities.
THE SPOT
Collision From Home 2020 ad spot
For Collision From Home, we had a 15-second spot between event sessions. I came up with the concept of “more than capital” to echo the sentiment we often hear at conferences—that these spaces are less about dealmaking and the exchange of capital, but more networking and relationship building. From there, I wrote the script and worked with our associate creative director and senior multimedia specialist to bring this idea to life. Once we had the timing down, I recorded the voice over and we put together the finishing touches, including a CTA to visit a microsite we’d made for attendees.
Podcast sponsorship script
I created this script for short live reads on podcasts, which has been used on NPR’s Planet Money, Run of Business and Innovation shows as well as LA-Venture.
Architects of smarter cities? How VC is shaping urban ecosystems
Cities mirror their inhabitants. Just like us, smart cities are leveraging data and digital technology to help solve pervasive problems. At the center of it all are six sectors: Food/restaurant tech, urban mobility, shared spaces, real estate tech, construction tech and smart infrastructure.
I wrote this script to promote the PitchBook Private Market PlayBook, a quarterly magazine that dives deep into certain subjects. I also provided the voice over.
